REFLECTIONS ON 2020

2020 has been challenging for everyone, and much has been written about the devastating impact of Covid on so many industries, including the live music business. At the end of a difficult year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on it, and to acknowledge our gratitude for the things we held onto; for the way our team, artists and partners pulled together in solidarity; and for the things we cherish now more than ever.

Although live music and Broadway ground to a halt, we still had much to be thankful for. We were excited to welcome Mine as a new member of the Karakter artist family. Anais Mitchell won a Grammy and was named to TIME’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Wallis Bird did a very successful online concert series and is working on a new record. Netflix’s ‘How to Sell Drugs Online…Fast’ season two came out, featuring the score by Get Well Soon. Hundreds released an amazing album and 3 EPs, which are connected to the record. Steiner&Madlaina worked on a new record that will be released in early 2021, Inner Tongue, Sam Vance Law and David Lemaitre are working on new music. .

As always, we are proud to work with such inspiring people who stayed positive during the year despite everything. A big thank you to the fans who supported our artists, buying music, merch and tickets for online gigs. It hasn’t been the year we expected, but we are confident that 2021 will bring good changes….and that live music and theatre will be all the sweeter once it returns.
